Advent Hill Zone - ACT 5!

Hello again from the Advent Hill Zone, where we've been speeding through the Jakks Pacific Sonic the Hedgehog Advent Calendar for holiday funsies!

We're moving right along! Already five days in!

"Have no fear, Amy Rose is here!"

Star Post #1: General Info

Amy Rose first appeared in Sonic CD, where she was snatched up by Metal Sonic before being saved by the genuine article in Stardust Speedway. Since then, she's gone on to become one of Sonic's most recurring friends across games, comics, and animation. Amy is a bubbly, optimistic girl filled to the brim with energy that she uses for both spoiling Eggman’s schemes AND pursuing her biggest crush, Sonic himself. Since first encountering him following a tarot card reading that that spoke of a destined meeting, she was instantly smitten with him and follows him everywhere he goes, hoping to finally get him to reciprocate her feelings. If anyone or anything tries to stand in the way of her goals however, she displays a fiery temper, backed up by her command of the massive Piko Piko Hammer. She might be pure-hearted, but Amy's not someone to be messed with.

Star Post #2: Trivia

Though Amy Rose was the first female main character to be introduced in the games, fans of Sonic media from the 90's might recall a different girl getting the moon push in cartoons and comics. Yep, I'm talking about Princess Sally Acorn, who was Sonic's most prominent female co-star in both the SatAM cartoon and the Archie comic books. What does she have to do with trivia regarding Amy? Well, it seems like someone at Sega of America got it in their head to attempt a little tie-in to the previously-mentioned media when they were writing the story synopsis for the original US Sonic CD manual, as Amy's role is taken by Sally in it! (Despite, y'know, Sally being a Chipmunk and not a Hedgehog like the manual says.) Ironically enough, Amy would later make her Archie debut in Sonic #25 with her actual name, so whatever was being attempted here obviously wasn't something SoA stuck with. Very interesting piece of Sonic history, regardless.

Goal Plate: Closing Thoughts

Yay, Amy! We're really filling out our Classic Sonic cast here and we're only five days in!

We've rushed past five whole days, but there's more where those came from, so come back tomorrow for more Advent Hill Zone fun!
