Happy Sunday and thank you for joining us again in the Advent Hill Zone, where we've been drastically multiplying my Jakks Pacific Sonic the Hedgehog figure collection with a seasonal twist.
Box number 11! Let's see what it's hiding...
Talk about the catch of the day! We just hooked a Chopper!
Star Post #1: General Info
Much like the other two Badniks we've previously pulled from this Calendar, Chopper joined the Sonic series in the first game. It tries to ambush the player by hopping out of water under bridges. However, it's easily avoided and dispatched with a simple Spin Jump. Similar to Crabmeat, Chopper's appearances following the original game were pretty rare until it made a big comeback in a lot of the more recent titles. Heck, it even pops up in the recent Sonic Frontiers as a possible catch in Big's fishing mini-game!
Star Post #2: Trivia
Being a fish, using Chopper in a significant role in other media is a little trickier for writers than other Badniks. As a result, it only popped up in the Fleetway comic series and in a single episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Said episode, "The Last Resort," saw a whole school of Choppers being sicced on Sonic and Tails by Scratch and Grounder. However, Sonic easily reverses the situation and uses them to water-ski to an island resort. The show's take on the Choppers gave them yellow bodies and red eyes, but still stuck fairly close to their general design. (Well, at least closer than you'd expect a wacky show like AoStH to stick.)
Goal Plate: Closing Thoughts
This guy's really neat! He even has an articulated jaw!
Eleven days in, but don't stop joining us in the Advent Hill Zone yet! There's still more toys to be pulled!
