It's Birthday time again! (Number 34!) Because it was on a Saturday this year, I actually got to have a little celebration with my family on the day itself for once. Filled up on DQ ice cream cake and Raising Cane's while watching the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush and smashing stuff with a big monkey on my Switch 2. So, all in all, a pretty cool day. Now then, on to the main event: the loot that I scored!
WE'RE BREAKING THROUGHHHHH! Starting off with some games, the heavy hitter here is absolutely Bananza. DK's first brand new game in eleven years (not to mention his first 3D game in almost TWENTY-SIX) is also the Switch 2's first big exclusive single-player adventure, AND it happened to come out in late July??? Oh yeah, this one was MADE for me to get for my Birthday. I look forward to spending the remainder of August unearthing every last Banandium Gem and Fossil while digging ever closer to the Earth's core. Also got the DK & Pauline amiibo to immortalize their adorable little team-up on my shelf. (I'm thinking they'd look especially appropriate on my main gaming shelf with my Ralph and Vanellope Disney Infinity figures.)
Backing the big ape up are a fancy physical edition of the recent retro-style Power Rangers game with a bunch of extra goodies thrown in (including a super rad poster) and a remake of Mickey's original trip to Wasteland by the guys behind the recent SpongeBob 3D platformer renaissance. (Titans of the Tide looks SO GOOOOOOOD!) Looking forward to giving both a go after I finish with all the monkey business.
The rest of my goodies are all TMNT-related, so let's get to kicking some shell.
First off, some very turtley comics! Three more volumes continue the adventures of the 1987 Turtles as they battle foes both old and new (including a "classic" take on the Pantheon from the main IDW book), the green team celebrate their big 4-0 from last year by returning to several of their TV and comic incarnations for a collection of brand new stories, Rat King at last begins his dreaded Armaggedon Game in two more hardcover collections of IDW's ongoing, and last but not least, IDW revisits the Archie TMNT comics with an aim to reprint EVERYTHING. (Including mini-series, specials, short stories, and, hopefully, that chunk of issues that they infamously skipped in their previous trades.) I'm definitely gonna have PLENTY of genetically-modified ninjustu terrapin action to keep me occupied for quite a while.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Double-Sided Quilt/Comforter/Blanket
My last bit of Turtle Power was this really cool blanket that my parents found for me while they were out thrifting! It's from 2014 and I'm not sure whether it was from some kid's bedding set or sold by itself, but it's super neat and really comfy. The different art on both sides is especially cool. (I think I like the side with the classic team shot art the best, but the other side featuring characters rarely seen on stuff like this such as Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Casey Jones is certainly nothing to sneeze at. It's funny that THEY got a spot on this, but SHREDDER was a no-show. It's also funny that Leo's mask knot is miscolored on the team shot side. Oops.) It makes for a really fun addition to my TMNT collection and I love that it has an actual practical use. It'll be perfect to cloak myself in while watching Tales of the TMNT Season 2. (Whenever THAT finally hits.)
Wrapping things up, my sister also gifted me some Amazon cash that I used to pre-order, shock of all shocks, more TMNT comics!
